Why We Didn't Win that Photo Contest

I recently almost slipped. I found myself looking through photos of the children for a picture of the baby to submit to one of those magazine contests. As a rule, I always flip past that little sidebar in parenting magazines and completely ignore their pleas for a photo of "the
cutest baby ever"-yours and mine, of course. One of the contest requirements was that it be a photo of just the child in that age category-no group shots. But in all of the photos we have, the baby was almost always smiling widest when she was near or with one of her siblings. So we passed.
