No Shouting

Some days are easier than others, you were right Mom! Today was yet another rainy day-an ark sounds good, at least I would have a place to hide from the children. Monday morning started with falling in a puddle in the parking lot after "mommy and me" swim (like swimming with the uber mommies wasn't enough for one morning), was punctuated by about a hundred dirty diaper changes and dog walks in the pouring rain and is ending with equally as many dirty dishes in the sink..and on the island..and the dining room table. Everyone was damp, chilly and more than a little tired of being the house.

And now it really is almost over. There was no shouting, minimal tears and next to no tantrums (myself included). Everyone survived unscathed. What we will remember is racing matchbox cars and swedish meatballs from Ikea. If that is even remembered at all.

The last time I was this damp and chilly was a couple of weekends ago while climbing to the top of the Cape May lighthouse with my girlfriend. When we finally reached the top, we stood outside because the view was unbelievable and totally worth being whipped around in the wind and rain. There was a sign hanging on the outer railing, a little battered by the weather but you could read it clearly. No Shouting.
