Summer Vacation, Week Three

The kids and I are back from spending a couple weeks in Lake Ariel, Pa. It was very relaxing. Our days went something like eat breakfast, go the pool and swim, eat lunch, swim some more at the lake, go home, eat a light dinner, play and then finally bedtime for the kids so I could get some work done on the computer at night and read The Pilots Wife for the 42nd time.

Other than one phone call to the pediatrician for help with an infected cut in my son's mouth (and that's why you don't push the dentist hand away while they are working) and one phone call to poison control (after spending an hour crawling around on the floor looking for the missing pill it was pretty safe to assume the baby really did grab and eat it while four adults looked after two children), I had two weeks without dealing with doctors and medical issues, which made it a real vacation. We ate simply-fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy free creme filled cookies- so food allergies were a non-issue for the first time in I don't even remember how long. The baby even made it through a head cold without getting a sinus or bronchial infection, guess all that pool and lake water up her nose while swimming was not for naught.

Now we are home where we are sans lake and pool. The look on my son's face when I told him we were not going swimming today was priceless. Total disbelief. Shocked off his chair. Luckily, our town has a little pool we were able to join for $20.00 per person.
