Kindness Matters

The older my children get (19, 7 and 2 now!) the more I realize that time spent with them is time well spent. And that time spent telling them over and over again to be always kind and helpful whenever possible only seems like it is falling upon deaf ears.

At a recent school event, I watched my first grader do something incredibly kind for a classmate. More importantly, he seemed to act so instinctively; he didn't struggle with the decision, it was just what he did next.

My children are good kids, and they do all sorts of things that impress me on a daily basis. But watching my son take another child by the hand to help made me so incredibly proud of him.
